  1. What does it mean when your price page says “Introductory Prices”?
The introductory prices refers to the current pricing you see. It’s our way of giving you instant savings to celebrate our launch of ChildThemeStyles.com, but this is only for a short time period.
  2. Is there recurring payments for each membership?
No. We believe if you want to renew your membership, you should be the one to decide and not us.
  3. If I sign up for a single theme membership, can I upgrade to the Premium Membership later on?
Anytime during your active membership, if you decide to upgrade to the Premium Membership, you can do that with a prorated price (The premium membership price less the price of the single theme you purchased).
  4. What is the benefit of renewing my membership before it expires?
The benefits of renewing your membership before it expires is to keep receiving updates and support for your theme(s). When you renew, you get a savings of 50% off with each renewal.
  5. How many sites can I use your child themes on?
There is no limit. Your WordPress themes are licensed under the GNU General Public License which means that you have no restrictions.
  6. Can I modify your child themes with my own custom changes?
You have that option, but please note that whenever there is an update for your child theme, you will need to manually update it. We strongly recommend that if you decide to modify your child theme, only make CSS (stylesheet) changes with a separate stylesheet file. Consder using the Simple Custom CSS plugin, which creates a separate stylesheet. This way it makes changes outside of the child theme.
  7. What happens to the child theme when I update a WordPress default theme?
When a WordPress default theme has an update, nothing will happen to your child theme; only the parent theme gets updated. However, we always recommend when updating themes, plugins, or WordPress, it’s best to always make a full site back-up. Expect the unexpected.
  8. How do I update a child theme?
We have an update tutorial for our child themes to show how this is done. This is important because if you upload and overwrite your child theme after making any code changes, your changes will be lost–please follow the update tutorials.
  9. If I am using a WordPress default theme and then I activate your child theme, what happens to my settings and content?
In most cases, everything should stay where it is and your settings should not change. Our child themes inherits the features and functions of the parent theme, but some child themes will add new features and functions to your admin area, such as more sidebars, page templates, etc.
  10. Should I back-up my website before using your child themes?
We strongly recommend you keep regular back-ups of your website (including the database) whenever you install or update any plugin, theme, and especially whenever you update WordPress. It’s always best to play it safe because you never know what might happen…expect the unexpected.
  11. What if I need support for your child themes?
We do not provide support for child themes because of the nature of how child themes work. Normally they only include CSS, so support is not really needed. If you still need support, we can provide it to you. However, please note that we do not provide support for any custom changes you may have done.
  12. How do I get support if I don’t see the answer here?
If you have a “support” question for any of our Premium Themes and you do not see an answer here, you can log into the support forum here at Child Theme Styles, and post your question in the forum relating to your theme.
